Title: Dreams of Eden - Summer

I saw a photo of a woman holding her head in this position, with a soft smile on her face. Although that picture looks nothing like my painting, her expression touched my heart, and I decided to paint a woman epitomizing contentment. Since the eyes often portray the emotion of a piece, hers are completely and gently closed, inviting the viewer not just to look at her, but to feel what she feels. The colors solidify the piece by being used throughout.

I wanted to surround her face with flowers, and had done some research, when Jesus said softly to me, "Let Me do the flowers." What He formed through my brushes and palette knife brought a lushness and extravagance that my perfectionism could easily have ruined. It wasn't until she was almost finished that I knew the title would be Dreams of Eden. It wasn't until after she was finished that I knew He wanted me to do the rest of the seasons, so that she is only the first of four in a series. May you share the peace and rest she seems to exude!
